Publish to Shopify — connect your store
Shopify stores have a blog built in, and it is one of the best places to answer the questions buyers ask an AI assistant before they buy. Connecting takes one approval on Shopify’s own screen. Proparlab asks for a single permission — permission to write blog content — and nothing else. It cannot see your orders, your customers or your payouts.
- •You are the store owner, or a staff member with permission to install apps.
- •You know your store address — the one ending in .myshopify.com. You can see it in your browser bar when you are logged into Shopify admin.

Find your store address
Log in to Shopify. Look at the address bar: it reads something like
admin.shopify.com/store/your-store-name. Your store address is your-store-name.myshopify.com. It is not your custom domain — even if customers seeyourbrand.com, Shopify still knows the store by its .myshopify.com name.💡 If in doubt, in Shopify go to Settings → Domains. The .myshopify.com one is listed there and cannot be removed. - 2
Start the connection in Proparlab
Open Content Engine → CMS Integration, choose Shopify, type your store address into the box, and press Connect Shopify. You are sent to Shopify.

Approve on Shopify
Shopify shows you exactly what is being requested — write_content, which means creating and editing blog articles and pages. Read it, then press Install (or Approve). Shopify sends you straight back to Proparlab, where the connection now shows as connected.
⚠ If Shopify asks you to log in first, that is normal. Finish logging in and the approval screen appears. - 4
Pick the blog to publish into
Most stores have one blog, called News, and Proparlab uses it automatically. If you have several — say one for guides and one for announcements — press Test connection and Proparlab lists them so you can choose.
💡 If you want a separate blog for these pages, create it in Shopify first (Content → Blog posts → Manage blogs), then come back and pick it. - 5
Decide whether articles go live automatically
Set On publish to Create as a draft while you are getting a feel for it, or Publish live once you are happy. Drafts appear under Content → Blog posts in Shopify, marked as hidden, waiting for you.

Test it
Press Test connection. Green ticks mean Shopify is answering, the permission is in place, and Proparlab can see your blog. Publish a page from Content Engine → Pages to try it end to end.
Frequently asked questions
Can Proparlab see my orders or customers?+
No. The only permission granted is write_content, which covers blog articles and pages. Orders, customers, payouts, discounts and inventory are all separate permissions that were never requested, so Shopify will not release them to us.
How do I remove access?+
In Shopify go to **Settings → Apps and sales channels**, find Proparlab, and press **Remove app**. Access ends immediately and you do not need to tell us.
The Connect button sends me to a page that says Shopify connections are not switched on.+
That means the Shopify app has not been configured on our side yet. Get in touch and we will turn it on. In the meantime you can connect with an Admin API token instead — the link is under the Connect button.
Shopify says “This app can’t be installed yet”.+
That is on our side, not yours — it means our app has not finished its setup with Shopify. Nothing you do to your store will change it. Tell us and we will fix it; meanwhile the Admin API token option below the Connect button works on any store.
Shopify says the store address is not valid.+
It must be the full .myshopify.com address, not your custom domain and not a full URL. `mystore.myshopify.com` is right; `https://mystore.myshopify.com/admin` and `mybrand.com` are not.
Will these articles look like the rest of my store?+
Yes. They are ordinary Shopify blog articles and use your theme, so they inherit your fonts, colours and layout automatically.
